"Say hello to my little friend!"

I love this thing. It obviously borrows some of it's design from a certain equine-related guitar, but I promise you they don't sound as good as this. The mini humbucker is nice, but this thing really shines with the single coil. It's a great sound, very meaty, fantastic clean or distorted. It's the clean sounds that I think most will use it for. One of the reasons I prefer shorter scales has to do with some nerve issues in my hands and arms, and the shorter neck really helps me with that. The neck is narrow, of course, since it's the same as Eastwood's original tenor, but after a few minutes of play you get used to it. I did have a problem with the pulling the high E off the frets, but that has more to do with the low action than any fault of the guitar. It isn't for everyone, but so far I love this thing. I think it will be my living room guitar (unless I break down and buy an Airline Tuxedo).

In my earlier review, I did not comment on the electronics , hardware and action.
The mini humbucker in the bridege positions is clear and crisp with adequate power. The high output single coil pick uip in the neck position gives the guitar some 'fullness' and warm tone. The individual switching for each pick up works well and is easy to access.
the chrome tuners are great and keep it in tune. I had hoped that the smaller neck would mean speed on the fretboard and I am not disappointed at all. It is a please to look at, to hold , to hear and to play. As in the prior review, I can not overstate the the beauty of the green paint. Glad I was able to own one of these!

The Ellis 6 is a masterpiece. The green paint in picture on website DOES NOT do this instrument justice. As beautiful as it appears online, its actual beauty in real life is superb
this is my second purchase from Airline/Bighorn and will not be the last. The guitar's quality and beauty is matched only by Mike's personal dedication to customer satisfaction. He replied Sunday morning to an inquiry I had made the day before! There are only 4 remaining on this planet. If I could afford a 'spare' I would buy one as an investment. I can not say enough positive things about this purchase and ownership experience!!!
