What has become a rare and collectable American Made guitar, the 1967 Messenger is best known as the guitar of choice by Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad) in the early 1970’s. Eastwood's tribute captures the seductive look of the original distinctive cat’s eye f-holes and unusual neck joint. Available in transparent Greenburst and Cherry

Everything positive these other owners said of this beautiful guitar is true .While everyone wrote about how it plays I will write about its beauty. It has people running over to me to check it out. Several people knew right away and said. The Mark Farner guitar.Eastwood people were so cool when I ordered it and I received it pretty fast. When I went to UPS the worker asked me what is was and I said a guitar.I didnt think he knew Grand Funk but he said right away. The Messenger is it green like Marks? Well Eastwood did a great job to bring back Rock n Roll history!

Eastwood's reproduction of the famous Messenger gets my 5-star approval. Their upgrades, which includes a straight mortise tenon jointed maple set neck and New York style mini- humbucking pickups are definitely a very cool compromise. The Eastwood Messenger has a tone of it's own and it is a very unique tone! I weighed my Gibson ES-335 at 8.2 lbs and the Messenger at 8.6 lbs. The fast 12 inch radius neck is very close to the Gibson ES-335 in feel, except easier access and playability at the top frets. The neck feels exceptional, not too thin, not to clubby, but just right and the guitar stays in tune. All chrome and finish is done very well. Guitar was delivered to me set up perfect! I mean I did not have to adjust anything. I have played many export guitars and the Korean made Messenger by Eastwood is definitely at the top of best bang for the buck. I highly recommend! Buy one now, as they are being discontinued. I have been playing for 47 years now. I predict this guitar will only go up in price. It just drips cool!

I have owned this guitar for over a year now and I still can't believe how nice it is. Having been a fan of Grand Funk, and especially Mark Farner when I was younger I was surprised to see a review of this beautiful tribute and had to have it. The quality is top notch. The fit, the finish, the paint, everything. I am sure this is a much finer guitar than the one it was based on. It's comfortable, beautiful to look at, easy to play, and the mini humbuckers are great! Sounds outstanding. Buy one!

I have owned this guitar for several months now and cannot say enough good things about it. The pickups are extremely detailed and the tone is fantastic. Workmanship is top rate and this has become my go to guitar (I own 8 guitars including a Stratocaster).
