The Mosrite Mark II model was made in the 1960's and 70's. Not as popular in the early Mosrite years, later the Mark II was preferred by many Punk bands. The guitar features his unique pickup configuration - mini-Humbucker in the neck and high output single coil in the bridge - knurled volume knob and LP tone knob.

Plays like johnnys mosrite (and i've played his a few times over the years (Hi Bubbles!)). If I had to picky id say the neck is a bit wider than the original and it doesn't feel quite as lite as I remember but it could also be my hazy memory after so long. The distinctive Mosrite curves in this body and bridge shape really help the down strumming and muting and this is what I remember most about his guitar. This one definetly has that look and feel of the original and it makes me able to down strum faster than I can on a fender or Gibson for example. All in all its a very affordable tribute and since real Mosrite MK2 "slabs" are rare as hell and totally unaffordable, this will do just fine. It needed to be setup or course and the pickups are ok. To complete the sound I may indeed search for an old Mosrite single coil pickup to get that early Ramones sound or maybe put in a Dimarzio FS-1 like he did later on.

Excellent instrument with great looks and finish, at a good price. Good sound, in between Gibson and Fender families. Relatively lightweight. Neck tends to dive due to the longer lower horn, probably. Very happy about it.
