The Hi-Flyer is a beautiful reproduction of the UNIVOX Hi-Flyer from the early 1970's. Vintage Hi-Flyer value has grown steadily in the past decade as it was used by the late Kurt Cobain of NIRVANA. Eastwood’s upgrades include a carved Basswood body mounted to a SET maple neck for an incredibly solid design. Two powerful P90 pickups kick out an incredible bite for the buck.

After a 20 year hiatus I decided to try playing bass again. The lefty bass market is pretty thin and I was drawn to the Hi Flyer because of it's short scale and it's unique look. The first thing I noticed playing the HiFlyer was how light it was. My Les Paul felt heavier. I can practice for 2 hours and my back never notices this guitar. It stays in tune like a champ, and it has some great tones. I liked this bass so much I bought the Airline Map last week. Eastwood makes excellent guitars and their build quality is as good as the Fenders I usually play.

As a guitar player who was recruited into playing bass, I wasn't up for the challenge of taming a monster of a full sized bass. Any lefty player knows how hard it is to find a decent axe, so when I saw this little baby I knew she had to be mine. The neck is very playable right out of the box. The tone... sweeter that you can imagine. The 3-way switch allows a good variety of tonal signatures by using the neck pick-up, bridge pick-up or both. My band mates are always commenting about the awesome tone of this bass.
I love it.

Nice and light weight. Enjoy playing this bass. It came with round wounds on it. Sounds good but swapping out to flats. Pickups sound good too. Just need to get the bass professionally set up then it should be good to go!

I can't find anything I don't like about this bass.
I also have flats on it and I can cop so many different tones. Eventually I will go to rounds but I'm having to much fun right now.
Light weight, well balanced, killer tone and with a great 60's vibe. I should have bought this bass years ago.

This bass gets really great full, woody tones. With round-wound strings it can hang with rock, but I keep flat-wounds on it for alternative, indie, and folk rock. The pickups give some great variety intones. Love this bass.
