This is a great sounding, versatile short scale bass. I have it set up with flat-wound strings for that old-fashioned electric bass sound, and it rocks!
But what really surprises is the number of stares and comments I get. I've had photographers ask to bring it front and center for shots. I constantly get comments from other players regarding how cool it looks, where they can get one, and they are blown away when I tell them how inexpensive it is.
Warning: Even though this is a short scale bass, that bridge is going to require regular bass strings.
This is a great bang-for-your-buck bass. Recommended.

I purchased my classic 4 in February of this year and I have waited until now to write this review. I wanted to really put this bass to the test and take my time doing so.
Overall it is a fantastic bass that is appropriately priced for what it is. It is versatile, and I am really impressed with how wide the range of tone is. The short scale is really fun to play and the classic 4 has a rather thin and narrow neck which makes for a "fast" fretboard.
I really like this bass... except for, the hardware. It is rather average (at best) and a little bit of a let down. The finish on the hardware is already wearing off. I would have liked to have had an option to purchase a delux kit or something that would have given me a higher quality of hardware. I would still highly recommend this bass though. Please consider an upgraded model for the future.
