  1. Easier to play than a Rick 12!

Posted by Unknown on 22nd Oct 2015

I've owned a 12 string Rick for years but it mostly just sits in the closet because of it's very narrow neck. This is NOT a problem with the Classic 12! This is a beautiful and well made guitar and when I play it through a Janglebox and my Fender amp it sounds heavenly! It came out of the box with a perfect setup and low action making it easy to play. I can honestly say that I can't tell the difference in sound between the Eastwood and the Rick. In fact I may well be putting the Rick on ebay! Get a Calssic 12, you won't be sorry! ( And you'll save a lot of money too!)

  2. Giving Rickenbacker and Gretsch a run for their money!

Posted by Don P. on 23rd Sep 2015

Received my Eastwood Classic 12 today. This guitar is GORGEOUS! I've owned several 12- strings over the years (Ric, Dano, Dean) and was never terribly happy with any of them. This guitar blows them all away! It's got a cool Gretsch/ES feel and vibe to it. Sweet Fireburst finish that highlights the beautiful wood grain. The guitar was set up great right out of the box. Action was perfect with just a minor intonation tweak needed. The guitar sounded beautiful direct through the amp. Big, full neck pick up tone, and lots of bright jangle out of the bridge pick up. The middle setting on the toggle is my fave. A perfect blend of both pickups. The master tone helps to even out the tone. Chime City! This guitar would sound sweet through a Jangle Box (which is my next purchase). Eastwood did an exceptional job on this guitar. For the price, the Classic 12 is the perfect alternative to the pricey Gretsch and RICs. Best 12 string I've ever played! Great customer service from Mike and the Eastwood team, as well.

  3. Great Electric 12

Posted by Unknown on 23rd Sep 2015

This is my first electric 12. I couldn't justify the hefty Ric price tag as I only wanted it to cover the usual suspect 12 string songs (Petty, Beatles, Byrds etc.). Not expecting much for the price I was paying for it, I was pleasantly surprised when I received it. It played great right out of the box. It has a nice action, intonation was good and the neck width allows for nice string spacing for easy playability. It has all the jangle I need for the music I want to play on it. I'll be swapping out the stock round wound strings for flat wounds, but that will probably be all I'll be doing to improve this guitar. Lots of bang for your buck out of this electric 12.

  4. Hard to get....worth the wait.

Posted by Dan Pavelich on 23rd Sep 2015

Tried to order from Music Center in Kenosha, Wis. Three weeks after placing order, they couldn't give me an arrival date. Contacted Eastwood, they said the order hadn't been placed. Got my deposit back and ordered direct from Eastwood. The guitar is great, nice wide fretboard, beautiful finish and almost perfectly in tune when it arrived. Records like a dream, you can easily get those '60's Ric sounds without selling your car. Finally got that Ric monkey off my back. I'd buy another Eastwood in a heartbeat.

  5. really nice 12 stringer

Posted by Bryan on 23rd Sep 2015

I bought my Eastwood classic 12 in September 2013 from micheal@myrareguitars.com.. it wasn't perfect out the box for me. . but , not far off, I took it to my guitar tech and had a pro setup done and new Earnie ball strings on it.. lowered the action//and filed the corner of the nut down on the treble side , also had a buzzing/grounding noise, I emailed MIKE and he put me in touch with Dave Anderson and he told me what to look for. long story short it was a broken ground wire, had it re soldered and it works fine now ...I love it especially through a compressor pedal , and the wider neck makes it easy on the hands.. its got that jangle you want in a electric 12 string and the finish is gorgeous...and the case is super nice too , its a keeper.. and Mike is a nice guy, he made sure I was happy with my purchase ..I love my EASTWOOD thanks guys

  6. Decent Value but Room for Improvement

Posted by Unknown on 23rd Sep 2015

Got my guitar yesterday. Some really strong positives but some disappointments as well. I guess that is why it is at this price point. First, the positives: (1) Sounds great - especially with the bridge pickup or both pickups in play. The neck pickup sounds a bit muddy for my tastes. (2) Plays great - setup and intonation were great and the neck is terrific - nice wide string spacing and easy playing neck profile, (3) The striping on the maple top was good and the striping shows through nicely, (4) tuners work well and seem to hold the tuning just fine, and, (5) weight and balance are good. Now for some diasappointments - the fireburst finish would have benefited from a bit more finesse - the contrast between the edge and center of the guitar is a bit jarring, (6) Knobs where a little loose, and the pots are not very sensitive - part of their range appears to have no effect on the sound, (7) My guitar seems to have the same buzzing/grounding issue mentioned in another review on this site. Will need to see if I can get that taken care of, (8) Strings buzz a bit at the bridge when played acoustically.

I will most likely keep it as I believe it is a reasonable product for the price,. I am willing to bet that my issues are largely quality variations that may or may not be present in other instruments. The perils of on-line purchasing,

By the way, I also own a 360-12 Ric - and this Eastwood is way easier to play, sounds almost as good, and was quarter of the price. I am thinking of selling the Ric,
