Following on the success of our top selling Electric Mandocaster, we bring you the AIRLINE Mandola. It is to the mandolin what the viola is to the violin, tuned in fifths (C-G-D-A low-to-high), a fifth lower than a mandolin. Historically, the Mandola is the actually ancestor of the Mandolin, the name of which means simply "little mandola".

I can't believe how good this thing sounds, especially with effects. I've had mine for over 3 years, and it still inspires me every time I pick it up. It's good to just noodle on unplugged as well.
I'd give it 5 stars but for a couple of things. The first one I received had very high action, even with the bridge saddles all the way down. It was cheerfully and quickly replaced; the second one is insanely playable, but arrived with a couple of body dings, and the pickup is visibly skewed. I couldn't be bothered with another return - hopefully the quality has gone up a notch.
Also note that ball-end strings of the right gauge are not too easy to come by. I'm using these:
A bit heavier than the originals, but they work just fine.
Now I need the matching baritone :)

This thing screams and sings. With a mini-humbucker in the neck the sound of the swamp is always close by. Play it clean for an interesting sound color that chimes down low. Stomp on some dirt and man this thing really sounds good. Add trem and lord you have just conjured forth acadian paradise. I love this thing this mandola.

Really cool mandola. I couldn't find an electric mandola anywhere until I came to Eastwood. Sounds good, feels good, looks good, and playable out of the box after tuning.
