Airline® Guitars were made in the USA from 1958-68 by VALCO and sold through Montgomery Ward. VALCO also made National and SUPRO brands. The original Folkstar resonator guitar did not have pickups, this modern professional model adds two pickups and a blend switch for versatile stage use.

The guitar itself is just what I wanted - a resonator acoustic sound that is not overly loud, with a great variety of sounds available through the blended pickups. The slim-line body makes it comfortable to play, I love the color (blue) , the feel, the ergonomics, the slightly shorter scale, the low action.
Customer service has been exemplary via the online chat sessions.
It was shipped out the same day I ordered it.
All for a very reasonable price.
What's not to love?

What a great guitar! the resonator provides this characteristic tone. Old school sound and the dial a tone knob brings the resonator from full on to just the humbucker tone. slim line body is very easy to play action is low enough to easy to play finger style yet will hold up to slide play. Love this guitar!

I already had a couple of reso guitars when I came across this beauty. My interest was spurred by the ample room above the 12th fret for slide work. I took a trip directly to Eastwood's showroom and sampled a couple of them.
Of the three I tried, there honestly wasn't much to choose between them; I took the one which had a slightly HIGHER action (for slide).
There is a LOT more to this guitar than slide. The electronics are SUPERB, particularly the 'blend' control' for the biscuit bridge pickup and the conventional neck pickup. You can get some sounds that cross the spectrum from traditional to otherworldly with the right amplification (compression recommended).
Really nice build quality; really versatile guitar. I'm now saving space because of the two reso guitars I've sold since getting this one. This guitar is a reproduction of a '64 National model. I don't know if this one's better, but it sure is GOOD....

I bought the Blue Folkstar. It's built well and is fun to couch pick unplugged as well. Into an amp or PA it's money. The pickup control enables you to dial in a thick resonator tone as well as a very believable acoustic resonator sound. I'm tuned to open D and slide sounds real nice too. Lots of versatility in this guitar and it looks fantastic. Got a lot of compliments on it. This is my second instrument through Eastwood and their service/shipping is first rate.

I was looking for a resonator-type guitar, that can handle feedback, and obviouly, with a good sound. This guitar fullfils all those items!
Great sound, love the pickup blending! Acoutic sound also is very nice. Used to play live and its very easy to handle (no feedback problems!)
Finally, the look...well...just awesome vintage look! Love the body binding!
